Foresters have counted nearly 900 European bison in the Polish Bieszczady mountains, a record number that is about 100 more than last year. Wildlife experts are celebrating the breeding success, but concerns are also being raised about the negative side effects of the growing population. The results were just announced.

Leśnicy przeprowadzili inwentaryzację żubrów zamieszkujących polskie Bieszczady. Jest ich tam rekordowa ilość – prawie 900. To o 100 osobników więcej niż rok temu. Przyrodnicy cieszą się z sukcesu, ale pojawiają się też głosy wskazujące na negatywną stronę zwiększenia się populacji.
