A young humpback whale that ran aground off Timmendorfer Strand on the northern German coast freed itself overnight from Sunday to Monday, German news agency dpa reported on Friday. However, experts warn the animal will only be truly safe once it reaches the Atlantic Ocean. Concern for the whale's survival remains high.
