Court Overturns Fine for TVN's "Franciszkańska 3" Report
The Warsaw Regional Court overturned a fine of over 500,000 PLN imposed on TVN for airing the "Franciszkańska 3" documentary. The court stated the report was not an attack on the Catholic Church and that covering child protection issues is fundamental to democracy. The ruling is not yet final.
Sąd Okręgowy w Warszawie uchylił decyzję o nałożeniu na TVN ponad półmilionowej kary za emisję reportażu "Franciszkańska 3". W ustnych motywach uzasadnienia Sąd wskazał, że materiał nie był atakiem na Kościół katolicki, a poruszanie tematu ochrony małoletnich stanowi fundament demokracji. Wyrok jest nieprawomocny.
