Warsaw Court Overturns 550,000 PLN Fine Against TVN
The Warsaw District Court overturned a decision by Poland's National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) that had fined TVN 550,000 PLN for airing the documentary "Franciszkańska 3." The court ruled the report was not an attack on the Catholic Church and that protecting minors is a cornerstone of democracy. TVN24 reported the ruling on Friday.
Sąd Okręgowy w Warszawie uchylił decyzję KRRiT o nałożeniu na TVN 550 tys. zł kary za emisję reportażu „Franciszkańska 3”. W uzasadnieniu sąd wskazał, że materiał nie był atakiem na Kościół katolicki, a poruszanie tematu ochrony małoletnich stanowi fundament demokracji - poinformował w piątek TVN24.
