Health minister vows legal caps on doctors' working hours after hospital scandal
Health Minister Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda admitted there is currently no legal cap on doctors' working hours in Poland, meaning even extreme shifts cannot be flagged as irregular by NFZ inspectors. Following the Szpital Południowy scandal, she announced plans to introduce statutory working-hour limits for medical staff. She said the ministry acted swiftly and correctly, and that the Prime Minister raised no objections.
