Kia is bringing the facelifted Niro to America this summer.

Crossover sports revised styling, updated interior, and new tech.

The 2027 Niro drops the electric variant to go hybrid-only.

Following its debut overseas in January, Kia has introduced the facelifted Niro in America. It arrives this summer with freshened styling, new technology, and a hybrid-only lineup.

Looking surprisingly refined, the 2027 Niro has a “more confident and contemporary appearance.” The changes are immediately apparent as the crossover adopts a new front fascia with classier Star Map headlights. They’re joined by a revised bumper and a reworked grille.

The changes continue out back, where there’s a new liftgate that features a cleaner design. The license plate recess has been moved down to the redesigned bumper, while the taillights have been given a 3D-inspired makeover. Buyers will also find smaller changes including new Ivory Silver and Sunset Beige paint colors.

Moving inside, there’s an updated interior with a new steering wheel and a panoramic curved display. Higher-end variants combine a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch infotainment system, while entry-level variants have a smaller and more basic cluster display. Speaking of screens, models equipped with Kia Connected Car Navigation Cockpit now have quick controls and an over-the-air update capability.

Motivation is provided exclusively by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that produces 139 hp (104 kW / 141 PS) and 195 lb-ft (265 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to the front wheels.

This enables the Niro to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 10.7 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 109 mph (175 km/h). Fuel economy numbers haven’t been released, but they should echo last year’s model that returned 53 mpg city, 54 mpg highway, and 53 mpg combined.

While the powertrain carries over, Kia said the overall driving experience has been improved thanks to a series of “refinements to suspension tuning, ride comfort, and cabin quietness.” These promise to deliver a “smoother and more composed experience behind the wheel.”

Last but not least, there are several advancements on the driver assistance front. The standard Forward Collision Avoidance system gains Junction Turning, Cyclist Detection, and Direct Oncoming functions. Furthermore, the standard Lane Following Assist 2 system has been upgraded with a Hands-on-Detection sensor that monitors driver engagement via the steering wheel.

Highway Drive Assist 2 is newly available, while the range-topping SX Touring now offers a Blind-Spot View Monitor as well as a 360-degree Surround View Monitor.

On the topic of trims, the LX, EX, SX and SX Touring are joined by a new S variant. It appears to slot between the LX and EX. However, we’ll learn more details – including pricing – closer to launch.

Bitcoin Price Reclaims $60,000 As Strategy (MSTR) and Strive (ASST) Jump More Than 10%

Bitcoin price climbed above $60,000 on Wednesday, a level the asset had ceded during the last couple weeks of turbulence, after Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh told a central bank forum that the threat of persistent inflation had moderated.

The cryptocurrency traded near $60,171 this afternoon, a gain of about 2.7% on the day, with a 24-hour high of $60,474 and a low of $57,718. Trading volume for the session reached $26.68 billion.

Warsh, in remarks at the European Central Bank forum in Sintra, Portugal, said inflation expectations in surveys and bond prices had eased. He paired the observation with a warning that price growth remains too elevated and that the Fed will not accept inflation above its 2 percent target.

“We’re going to deliver price stability,” Warsh said.

Markets read the balance as a tilt toward relief. Bitcoin advanced as U.S. stocks rose and the dollar retreated from a weekly high. A softer dollar tends to lift demand for Bitcoin and other risk assets.

The move offered a reprieve in a hard year. Bitcoin sits about 30% below where it started 2026 and more than $66,000 under its record of $126,277, a slide that has kept the bear-market label in view. Its market value stands near $1.2 trillion.

Strategy (MSTR) and Strive (ASST) jump over 10% at times in intraday trading

Bitcoin treasury companies posted sharper gains. Strategy, the software firm turned Bitcoin holder under Michael Saylor, rose close to 7.5% on the day — with highs of 13% during the day. Strive jumped more than 10% at times to $12.02.

Both trade as leveraged proxies for Bitcoin, and their swings tend to exceed those of the coin. Strive has spent 2026 building a treasury that now tops 16,000 BTC, and the stock has climbed more than 100% across three months.

Earlier this week, Strategy released a new Digital Credit Capital Framework that raised the dividend on its STRC preferred shares to 12%, authorized up to $2 billion in share buybacks, and created a bitcoin monetization program allowing limited BTC sales for specific corporate purposes.

The company also established a $2.55 billion U.S. dollar reserve to cover preferred dividends and debt interest, with board rules requiring at least 12 months of coverage at all times. Strategy said any bitcoin sales would be limited to replenishing reserves, funding dividends and interest when preferable to issuing equity, or financing stock buybacks, while reaffirming bitcoin as its primary treasury asset.
