Another day, another potential Pixel problem. This morning, we’ve spotted a handful of users complaining that the Pixel-exclusive Google Recorder app isn’t working, with recordings apparently failing to save.

A post on the Google Pixel subreddit by user username-invalid-s says that the Google Recorder app (which they refer to as Pixel Recorder) isn’t actually creating recordings when it appears to be. After trying to record audio, the user says, they found no trace of it in the Google Recorder app or indeed anywhere in their phone’s storage.

Although artificial intelligence (AI) continues to dominate business conversations, widespread adoption is still some way off.

In fact, just one-third of professionals said that AI programs are being scaled across their organizations.

Many companies remain hesitant to move beyond pilot projects, with a lack of trust a major barrier.

Concerns over reliability, data protection, IT security , impartiality and the potential for misuse also continue to slow adoption.

To close that gap, businesses need to understand what is behind it, how to close it and how to ensure these processes scale across the whole enterprise.

What’s behind the trust gap?

Lack of trust in AI systems continues to hold organizations back. Only 57% of AI and data teams fully trust the outputs of AI systems, and among product managers and software developers , this figure drops to just one-third. This points to a wider lack of confidence as AI becomes more embedded in day-to-day operations.

Developers’ fears are based on a variety of factors. Hallucinations, when AI models generate information that appears credible but is in fact false, mean workers are concerned about its reliability in high-stakes or sensitive use cases.

Likewise, cybersecurity , including the security of data entered into AI systems, the risk of leakage to third parties, the potential for attackers to compromise AI environments, compliance with ethical standards, and whether bias in systems could shift over time as they continue learning during live operation are all contributing to workers’ distrust of AI models.

Building trust in AI

As organizations look to build confidence in AI, quality management is becoming a bigger priority. In fact, 79% of workplace decision-makers see a direct link between trust in AI and active quality assurance measures such as regular testing, monitoring and oversight.

Trust can only be built when both AI systems and the data behind them are subject to comprehensive quality controls that are applied continuously, not just as a one-off check before deployment.

A strong foundation starts with data quality. Organizations need confidence that the information feeding AI systems is complete, up to date, and accurate. AI outputs are only as reliable as the inputs they depend on, so flawed or incomplete information will inevitably lead to poor results. Robust data governance is therefore essential to ensure AI-driven decisions to hold up in real-world use.

Quality management must also cover security, compliance and access controls. Organizations need safeguards to ensure that data does not leak from internal systems to third parties and that AI complies with regulatory requirements such as the EU AI Act and GDPR.

Clear accountability for protecting sensitive business is equally important. For example, organizations must ensure that HR records can only be accessed by authorized HR staff, with controls in place to monitor and manage how that data is used within AI environments.

At the same time, trust is not solely about reducing risk. Organizations want to ensure AI investments deliver measurable value, with more than half of companies citing improving return on investment (ROI) from Ai deployments as a key priority. This demonstrates that reliability and performance are just as important as security and governance.

Why quality management still struggles to scale

For many businesses, the challenge is no longer deciding whether to use AI, but how to manage it reliably at scale. That is proving difficult because quality management processes are still heavily reliant on manual oversight.

Quality management needs to extend across the entire AI lifecycle, from model design and training through to testing and ongoing monitoring in production.

Yet among companies that conduct regular testing, just 15% to 29% have implemented automated quality assurance processes at any AI development stage. This means that quality controls are often conducted entirely or partially manually, making them time-consuming, costly and prone to human errors.

Ultimately, this limits widespread AI adoption. Large-scale deployment is difficult to achieve when quality assurance relies heavily on manual effort, as scaling would require a significant increase in personnel.

Many organizations are also trying to manage AI adoption without clear governance, with half still lacking an enterprise-wide AI governance strategy. This is often compounded by a lack of expertise and limited understanding of how AI systems arrive at their results. At the same time, pressure to deploy AI quickly can divert resources away from testing, monitoring and oversight.

The consequences of inadequate quality management are quickly felt, particularly when AI systems interact directly with customers. Beyond the risk of regulatory fines, organizations often face dissatisfied customers, missed business opportunities, and reduced productivity when AI-generated results create more work than efficiency gains.

A stronger focus on quality pays off

As long as concerns around reliability, security and governance remain unresolved, businesses will struggle with the successful, large-scale deployment of AI. In line with this, three-quarters of decision-makers believe that more effective AI quality assurance would see their organizations experience a significant or transformative impact on user trust.

Companies must elevate AI to a new level of trust through a combination of suitable toolsets, robust governance frameworks, process expertise and technical know-how. Only by embedding these foundations can organizations deploy AI profitably and sustainably over the long term, while building the confidence necessary to scale its adoption responsibly.

Porsche created three unique 911 editions for different markets.

Each model draws heavily from local culture and historical influences.

Exclusive Manufaktur says personalization demand continues to grow worldwide.

Sometimes the best way to communicate isn’t to tell but rather to show. That’s what Porsche is banking on as it showcases three special 911s. Each of these special-edition cars intends to demonstrate just how intricate and ornate Porsche’s personalization team can go. According to the brand, owners are increasingly asking for just these types of options. And, it’s easy to see why.

The 911 has never been a subtle car in general, but up against the biggest supercars, it can sometimes appear a bit tamer. Thanks to Porsche’s in-house customization arm, Exclusive Manufaktur, that no longer has to be the case. The cars on display here are built for the UK, Japan , and Kuwait, respectively.

Rather than simply applying unique paint colors and badges, each edition incorporates local cultural influences, historical references, and bespoke materials intended to create something that feels genuinely tied to its destination market.

Kuwait’s Sadu-Woven Turbo S

Perhaps the most visually distinctive of the three is the 911 Turbo S Sadu Edition built for Kuwait. Created to celebrate 70 years of Porsche in the region, the car draws inspiration from traditional Sadu weaving.

The patterns appear throughout the vehicle, from exterior graphics to specially developed seat fabrics. Inside, Porsche pairs Black and Bordeaux Red leather with Light Silver accents, while the unique woven materials add a look unlike anything found in the standard 911 catalog. Even the wheels and edition badging were created specifically for this model.

Japan’s Indigo-Dyed GT3

Japan receives the 911 GT3 Artisan Edition , a car that blends motorsport credentials with traditional craftsmanship. Finished in White with Clubblau accents, the GT3 incorporates subtle references to Japanese indigo dyeing through carefully selected blue highlights. A gradient side graphic symbolizes the flow of air and time while also nodding to Porsche’s famous Manthey “Grello” race car.

The theme continues inside through unique upholstery, embroidery, and embossing inspired by traditional Japanese manufacturing techniques. Unlike many appearance-focused special editions, this one also gets a Manthey Kit as standard, adding track-focused suspension and aerodynamic upgrades. That alone might make it the most desirable of the trio years from now.

The UK’s Earls Court Tribute

The third model, the 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition , celebrates 75 years of Porsche in the UK. Its specially created Earls Court Green metallic paint pays tribute to the Porsche 356 models displayed at London’s Earls Court Motor Show in 1951. Matching wheels, heritage-inspired trim, and edition-specific details reinforce the connection. Inside, Nightgreen and Chalk Beige leather are joined by corduroy accents and Paldao wood trim, creating a cabin that feels intentionally nostalgic without becoming retro for retro’s sake.

According to Porsche, 98 percent of 911 buyers now select at least one personalization option through Exclusive Manufaktur. Granted, that could be as simple as adding a specific badge, engraving, or color, but it makes one thing clear. Customization isn’t just a side hustle, so to speak, for Porsche. It’s a main part of ownership for flagship customers.

Understanding matchmaking in Arc Raiders has been something of a white whale for players, especially since we first got confirmation that aggression-based matchmaking did actually play a part in creating lobbies. Since then Embark has been more open about what actually goes into its matchmaking and is more responsive to players who asked for changes, with its latest update adding perhaps the most sought after change.

Following on from the matchmaking survey Embark put out in May Arc Raiders has "implemented one of the most requested matchmaking features," according to the latest patch notes for Arc Raiders . "We now track your playstyle separately for Solo, Duo, and Trio rounds, and match you accordingly.

(Image credit: Embark Studios) "Say you are a friendly solo player, but your two squadmates always want to dominate trios in PvP. Before, being friendly solo could push you into more cooperative trio rounds, and playing PvP-focused in a trio could push you into more PvP-focused solo rounds—so changing squad size meant matchmaking took a bit to adjust."

This has actually been an issue I've encountered in the past with Arc Raiders. Unfortunately, my friends are split down the middle with different playstyles, with some being cooperative and others taking the role of bloodthirsty killers. That's always meant that we've rarely played together as everyone likes keeping their solo lobbies just the way they are, and can't be arsed with having to retrain the matchmaking after briefly switching styles.

"Now there's no overlap," the patch notes explain. "You'll be able to go from friendly questing and plant-picking in Solo rounds to adrenaline-fueled PvP trio games (if that's how you usually play in those respective cases), by simply changing your squad size. The same holds for Duo—all three are tracked on their own."

I absolutely love this from Embark and is yet another example of how the devs have been slowly and consciously improving the quality of Arc Raiders, especially since the initial hype died down. It's so good, in fact, that I really wish we'd gotten this change sooner, but it's better late than never I guess. At least I've got a new reason to drag my friends back into Arc Raiders now.
