Rally co-driver Maciej Krzysik survived 1,000°C car fire at Nysa Rally — his driver died
Maciej Krzysik, a 41-year-old rally co-driver, miraculously survived a crash at the Nysa Rally in October 2024 when his car caught fire at temperatures reaching 1,000°C. He managed to escape the burning vehicle unaided but lost both hands in the incident. His driver and friend Artur Sękowski died in the accident. "The worst moment was when I saw I had no hands. My first thought was: why did I even survive?" Krzysik told Interia Sport.
