MedPAC data shows US primary care is thriving, despite crisis narrative
A March report by the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) found that US primary care is improving across every tracked metric. Nearly all Medicare beneficiaries have a primary care provider, over three-quarters can get an appointment within two weeks, and PCP compensation is rising faster than other specialties. This directly contradicts the dominant narrative that primary care in America is in crisis.
