Food scent boosts leg workout endurance, study finds
A study published in Frontiers in Physiology found that food-related scent signals can increase strength and endurance during leg resistance training. Dr Mohamed Nashrudin bin Naharudin from the University of Malaya recruited 23 healthy young men who fasted for at least 10 hours before testing on a leg extension machine. The results show that unconscious olfactory cues genuinely affect physical performance capacity.
