China holds US seismologist Youlin Chen on espionage charges for nearly two years

American seismologist Youlin Chen, who studied seismic activity linked to North Korea's nuclear tests, has been held in China for nearly two years awaiting trial on espionage charges, Reuters reported. US authorities consider his detention unlawful. The case is adding to tensions between Washington and Beijing.
