Astronomers confirm darkest known exoplanet orbiting Beta Pictoris

After more than 11 years of analysis, astronomers from Europe and the US have confirmed the existence of the darkest exoplanet ever observed from Earth, orbiting the star Beta Pictoris. The discovery relied on archival data, ground-based telescopes and the James Webb Space Telescope. The planet absorbs nearly all light that hits it, making it a unique object of study.
