DeChambeau drops out of second place after two-stroke penalty at The Open
Bryson DeChambeau was handed a two-stroke penalty for improving the line of his swing in thick rough during his second round at Royal Birkdale. The sanction dropped the 32-year-old American out of second place — he had been one stroke behind leader Lucas Herbert. DeChambeau reacted furiously to the ruling and his continued participation in the Open Championship is now in doubt.
