Poles wait years for surgery — one woman's appointment is set for 2029
A 40-year-old woman from Kraków received a surgical appointment for October 2029 — one of thousands of similar cases in Poland's public health system. A Watch Health Care report combined with interviews with patients, the NFZ and the Health Ministry shows that waiting lists continue to grow, leaving patients losing their senses or mobility before receiving care. The ministry has outlined plans to cut queues, but concrete systemic solutions have yet to be implemented.
