Germany and Finland Propose Helsinki-Style Peace Dialogue for Middle East
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Finnish President Alexander Stubb have proposed launching a Middle East peace dialogue modelled on the Cold War-era Helsinki Process. The initiative would cover the entire region and rely on gradual confidence-building measures. The two leaders drew on European diplomatic experience as the basis for their proposal.
