Vistula Spit: from fishing village to one of Poland's top coastal destinations
The Vistula Spit is a 96-kilometre sandy peninsula stretching from Gdańsk to Lochstedt in the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast, split between Poland and Russia. Once home mainly to fishing communities, the region now draws tourists with wild beaches, cycling routes, hiking trails and charming villages. The Vistula Spit Canal has opened a new waterway, further raising the area's profile as a coastal destination.
