Turkey and Iraq Sign Historic Energy Alliance Over Kirkuk Oil

Turkey has taken what it describes as a "historic step" toward an energy alliance with Iraq. Ankara could receive up to one million barrels of Iraqi oil per day following Turkish Petroleum's acquisition of a stake in the BP-operated Kirkuk oilfield. The deal is expected to strengthen Turkey's position as a regional energy hub.
