Micron exec: memory crisis won't end soon — new fabs can't fix it fast enough

Sumit Sadana, Micron's executive vice president and chief business officer, warned that the global semiconductor memory crisis will not end quickly because building new fabrication facilities takes considerable time. Surging demand for HBM memory used in AI servers is squeezing supply of other memory types. The industry must rely on greenfield factory expansion, a slow and costly process.
