Total solar eclipse crosses Spain for first time in over a century — millions gather

A total solar eclipse will cross Spain on August 12, tracking from Galicia's western coast to the Balearic Islands, with the Moon covering the Sun for roughly 2 minutes. It is the first such event visible in Spain in over a century. Spanish authorities estimate around 6 million people will be in the path of totality, including half a million tourists from as far as Japan and the United States. Special facilities and restrictions have been put in place for visitors.
