Graduate student proves quantum uncertainty principle for fractals
A graduate student has proved a new extension of the quantum uncertainty principle that applies to fractals — mathematical shapes that remain equally complex at every scale. Heisenberg's uncertainty principle states that the more precisely you know a quantum particle's position, the less you can know about its momentum, and vice versa. The new result extends this rule to fractal geometry.
