Poland christens first frigate "Wicher" — Miecznik programme billions over budget

The frigate "Wicher", the first of three vessels in Poland's Miecznik programme, was christened at PGZ Naval Shipyard in Gdynia. At 138 metres long and around 7,000 tonnes displacement, it is the largest warship ever built for the Polish Navy. The programme was officially priced at 15 billion zloty, but sources at the ceremony suggested the real cost is 2–3 billion zloty higher.
