PSG beats Aston Villa 2-1 in UEFA Super Cup — Madjo becomes youngest scorer in history
Paris Saint-Germain defeated Aston Villa 2-1 in the UEFA Super Cup in Salzburg. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring in the 20th minute and Désiré Doué sealed victory in the 62nd, while 17-year-old Brian Madjo equalised on the stroke of half-time to become the youngest scorer in Super Cup history. Villa came close to forcing a penalty shootout but Warren Zaïre-Emery's extraordinary block denied João Gomes what looked a certain goal.
