PS5 has a hidden flaw: liquid metal coolant degrades heatsink over time
A user known as Modyfikatorcasper posted photos on X showing a PlayStation 5 in which the liquid metal used in the cooling system leaked and severely damaged the heatsink. The issue affects older units and only becomes apparent after several years of use. Sony opted for liquid metal instead of traditional thermal paste to improve heat dissipation, but the choice carries a long-term degradation risk.
