South Korea to upgrade K2 tanks for $2.43bn — active protection and anti-drone systems
South Korea has launched a K2 main battle tank upgrade programme worth 3.43 trillion won (approximately $2.43 billion). The tanks will receive active protection systems, electronic countermeasures against drones and improvised explosive devices, and remote-controlled weapon stations. The programme is designed to counter modern threats, including the growing role of drones on the battlefield.
