Ford spends $2 billion retooling factory for $28,000 electric Fathom truck

Ford has completed a $2 billion retooling of its Louisville Assembly Plant in under a year to prepare for production of the electric Fathom pickup truck. The Fathom is priced at $28,000, making it one of the more affordable electric trucks on the market. Prototypes are expected to begin rolling out from the plant in the first quarter of 2027.
