US revokes over 600 visas in crackdown on birth tourism
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the revocation of over 600 visas belonging to individuals suspected of participating in birth tourism — the practice of travelling to the US to give birth and secure citizenship for the child. The move is the result of a task force set up by the administration to curb abuse of birthright citizenship. Rubio vowed that the State Department would use all available tools to dismantle birth tourism networks.
