CFTC joins SEC in exploring crypto rules without CLARITY bill

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will hold an Innovation Advisory Committee meeting on August 20 to address regulation of crypto assets, artificial intelligence and prediction markets. The CFTC is joining the SEC in exploring a regulatory framework for crypto independently of congressional progress on the CLARITY bill. Both regulators are pursuing rule-making in parallel with ongoing legislative processes.
