ABC and NBC to air 90 NBA games in 2026-27 season, up 14%

ABC and NBC will jointly air 90 NBA games during the 2026-27 season, a 14% increase over the 79 broadcast in the prior season. The uptick continues a long-term squeeze on general-entertainment programming as broadcast networks shift toward live sports, unscripted content and news. Traditional dramas and comedies are losing ground on free-to-air television as a result.
