Ethereum Foundation drops Poseidon hash in post-quantum security plan

The Ethereum Foundation is moving away from the Poseidon hash function in its post-quantum security roadmap. Researcher Justin Drake says advances in compact proof technology have eliminated Poseidon's former performance advantage, making the switch necessary. The Foundation is now evaluating alternative cryptographic approaches resistant to quantum computing attacks.
