Romania shuts nuclear plant as low Danube water cuts cooling supply
Romania has shut down its only nuclear power plant due to a lack of cooling water from the Danube River. Hungary is simultaneously racing to dam the Danube to keep its Paks nuclear plant operational. The unusually low river levels are threatening the energy security of both countries at the same time.
