Świątek wins Toronto WTA 1000 title and publicly apologises to absent coach Roig

Iga Świątek defeated Jelena Rybakina 6:2, 6:3 in the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto, claiming her first title of the season. It is also the first success for Świątek under Spanish coach Francisco Roig, who was not present in Canada. After winning, Świątek publicly apologised to the 58-year-old coach in a humorous manner and revealed his continued plans as her trainer.
