Sydney airport near-miss: Airservices didn't report it as planes were 1km apart
Airservices Australia did not immediately report a runway incursion at Sydney airport in which a Virgin plane aborted its take-off as a Qantas aircraft crossed the runway ahead of it. CEO Rob Sharp said the roughly 1km gap between the planes did not meet mandatory reporting requirements. However, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau said it was "concerned" by the incident.
