France evacuates 525 from Luglon as wildfire burns 1,100 hectares in Landes

French authorities evacuated 525 people from the village of Luglon on Friday as a wildfire tore through pine forests in the southwestern Landes region, burning 1,100 hectares. The fire advanced to within a few kilometres of the village centre during what officials describe as an unprecedented wildfire season. Firefighters are battling the blaze under difficult weather conditions.
