Oceania backs Infantino at FIFA but New Zealand breaks ranks
The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) officially backed Gianni Infantino for re-election as FIFA president after an executive committee meeting in Fiji, praising "the progress achieved over the last decade." The OFC's 11 votes could prove decisive as UEFA, CONCACAF and the Asian Football Confederation have demanded Infantino's resignation. New Zealand broke from the rest of the OFC, becoming the sole member not to endorse the FIFA president and exposing a crack in Oceania's voting bloc.
