Etna eruption shuts Catania airport until Saturday — worst disruption in 20 years

Catania airport in Sicily will remain closed until 2 a.m. Saturday due to renewed activity from Mount Etna. The operator of the island's largest airport declared the current disruption the worst in 20 years. The closure has left thousands of travellers stranded.
