Spain extends Almaraz nuclear plant licence to 2030

Spain's government, which plans to phase out nuclear energy entirely, has extended the operating licence for the Almaraz nuclear plant by two years, to 2030. Almaraz is Spain's largest nuclear power producer and is located near the Portuguese border in the Extremadura region. The extension marks a departure from the country's original reactor phase-out schedule.
