Etna eruption shuts Sicily's busiest airport until at least Saturday

Mount Etna's eruption has blanketed Sicily's busiest airport in volcanic ash, forcing the suspension of all flights until at least Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of travellers have been stranded as a result. The Catania airport closure is a direct consequence of ash fall from the eruption.
