Polish Army has 220,000 soldiers — target is half a million

Poland's armed forces currently number over 220,000 active-duty soldiers, of whom 83% are men and 17% women. The Ministry of Defence and military commanders aim to eventually reach half a million personnel by combining professional soldiers with high-readiness reservists. This represents one of the most ambitious army expansion plans in Poland's history.
