Despite growing up in the digital age, Gen Z is increasingly turning to analogue devices — film cameras, cassette players and pagers. The average adult internet user spends over six hours online daily, and in 2024 the number of social media users surpassed five billion. Fatigue from constant notifications and algorithmic feeds is driving young people to seek simpler, less absorbing technology.
