NASA tests Martian helicopter blades exceeding Mach 1

At the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, NASA tested new rotor blades designed for future Martian helicopters. During tests in simulated Martian atmosphere, the blade tips exceeded the sound barrier. The technology is intended to enable the construction of larger and more capable aircraft for upcoming missions to the Red Planet.
