Microsoft: Copilot rarely reproduces even sentences from NYT articles
Microsoft claims in new court documents that Copilot extremely rarely reproduces even complete sentences from news articles or books, much less substantial excerpts that could replace the original. The company presented analysis of 8.2 million Copilot queries as evidence in a lawsuit brought by publishers including the New York Times and book authors. Microsoft argues the tool does not infringe copyrights as claimed by plaintiffs.
