Washington Post: CIA chief's Moscow visit hardened Putin's stance

CIA Director John Ratcliffe made an unexpected trip to Moscow last week but failed to persuade Vladimir Putin to make concessions on Ukraine, the Washington Post reports. Moreover, according to the newspaper, Putin likely saw the visit as a sign of weakness and further hardened his position. The Kremlin has not changed its negotiating conditions.
