German fugitive arrested in Gliwice for insurance fraud with fake medical certificates

Police at Precinct III in Gliwice arrested a 34-year-old wanted on a European Arrest Warrant issued by German authorities. The man allegedly submitted 16 forged medical certificates to an insurer and fraudulently obtained benefits worth nearly 34,000 złoty in 2024. A court, on the prosecutor's motion, ordered his detention for 30 days. The alleged crime carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.
