Human activity drove retreat of Antarctica's fastest-melting Pine Island Glacier
A new study confirms that human-driven climate change significantly accelerated the retreat of the Pine Island Glacier in Antarctica during the 20th century. The glacier drains a large part of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet into the Amundsen Sea and is one of the biggest contributors to rising global sea levels.
