Sinaloa Cartel co-founder "El Mayo" Zambada sentenced to life and $15bn fine
Ismael Zambada García, known as "El Mayo" and co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, has been sentenced to life in prison by a US court. He was also ordered to pay $15 billion after admitting to flooding the United States with vast quantities of drugs. Zambada was considered one of the most powerful drug traffickers in the world.
