Wildfire near Omiš, Croatia forces evacuation of 1,200 residents and tourists

A major wildfire near Omiš, around 25 kilometres south-east of Split, forced approximately 1,200 residents and tourists to evacuate overnight on Thursday into Friday. Strong winds drove the flames towards the coastal town, injuring some residents and disrupting holiday travel in the area.
