Zakopane besieged: tourist traffic 18% higher than on New Year's Eve

Zakopane is experiencing a tourist surge this weekend, with visitor numbers running 18% higher than on last New Year's Eve, according to the Tatra Chamber of Commerce. Hotels and guesthouses are fully booked and the mountain trails of the Tatras are packed with hikers.
