A new film adaptation of Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" is in production, with Daisy Edgar-Jones cast as Elinor Dashwood and Esmé Creed-Miles as her sister. The 1995 version directed by Ang Lee, starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, grossed around $135 million worldwide and earned Thompson an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Interest in Austen's work has been further boosted by the 250th anniversary of her birth last year.
